Contemplative Spaces
There is much in nature that has a counterpart in aspects of our own experience. In the landscape, and in ourselves, we can acknowledge power and frailty, roughness and delicacy, wild energy and peace, structure and movement, depth and surface, time and timelessness. In this way, being in nature allows us access to parts of ourselves that are deeply and intuitively felt. The wildness and beauty of my surroundings in Northern New Mexico move me deeply. This body of work, Contemplative Spaces, is an expression of this connection, using the colors and textures of the natural world combined with aspects of pure abstraction.
