Memoir

I began the Memoir paintings in the summer of 2024 using shredded bits of personal writing as collage elements in my abstract paintings. The ideas that underlie the series have branched out into three different bodies of work, and the exploration continues. In each of these, the small fragments of handwriting only hint at their source; they are not meant to be deciphered or tell a personal story, though they originated as such. They are meant to evoke a more universal response, a sense of the individual history and unique narrative we all create in our lives.
