Unbound Narratives

In this body of work, I'm exploring the use of shredded writing in larger paintings where the small bits of paper are subtle, buried in the layers of paint and cold wax. This format emphasizes the unknowable aspects of these fragments. Some are almost completely obscured, seen only at close range, while others are more visible, yet still only shards of writing that do not reveal content. To encourage close examination of the surface, I use mostly atmospheric color and subtle textural shifts rather than bold or obvious shapes.
