Squarings
A series of paintings based on the poem, “Squarings,” by the Nobel Prize winning Irish poet Seamus Heaney. The paintings are intuitive responses to his themes of the material and spiritual worlds, and of our journeys in life. The format of the work--twelve paintings, each 12" square-- was inspired by the prominence of the number 12 in the structure of the poem.
